Welcome to the Walton Hall Trout Lake, an idyllic place for fly-fishing. Set within the grounds of Walton Hall, a beautiful Georgian mansion on an island, this 26 acre lake is regularly stocked with Rainbows, Browns and Blue trout and is open all year.

Fishing from the comfort of our very stable boats including wheely boats)there is excellent sport for anglers of all skill and experience levels. We can provide tuition (by appointment) and we cater for the disabled angler.

If you've never been to Walton Hall Trout Lake before you're in for a real treat: both the sport to be had and the surrounding scenery is as good as it gets. There is ample free parking and refreshments are available from a number of sources close by (from inexpensive snacks to a sumptuous Table d'Hote dinner).

Walton Hall Trout Lake is set in some of the most impressive countryside in West Yorkshire with sweeping woodlands, a rich variety of bird-life, stunning views and is surrounded by the championship-standard Waterton Park golf course. A wonderful place to fish.

Walton Hall (now a hotel) was once the home of Charles Waterton a 19th century explorer and naturalist. The Squire converted the lake and surrounding parkland into the world's first nature reserve. Today the estate has been lovingly-preserved and acts as a superb backdrop to the fishing lake, guaranteeing a tranquil setting to a marvelous day's trout fishing.
